(More customer reviews)My vehicle has the spare tire mounted underneath - really interfears with departure angles, and is a pain if you actually have to get to the spare because you need it.Problem solved with the spare tire carrier.Safely and securely relocates your spare to the roof rack (I use with a LoadWarrior basket) where it is out of the way and easily accessable if needed.
EDIT:Just a note - I would never use this as a permanent tire relocater.At highway speeds if you were to get in an accident, even if the basket and carrier held, the mounts for your roof rack probably wouldn't and at that point the rack and tire will become a projectile!Great for offroading and weekends, but not a permanent solution.For a permanent solution replace your rear bumper with one that has a tire carrier :)
