(More customer reviews)These fit our 2007 Kia Rondo as expected, however, the cheap plastic locking pin doesn't do a very good job of keeping the plastic cover on each of these.I've still only been able to (barely) get 3 out of 4 of them on.I read another review elsewhere that recommended the locking pin as a better alternative, so I'm going to try those.I don't suspect it will add any real security because you can pop the plastic covers off easily with just a screwdriver, but hopefully it will hold them in place a bit better.

This is the second set I've installed on my vehicles and have been able to transfer one roof rack system over without having to buy a whole new system.

Thule XADAPT1 Rapid Aero Bar Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I have a 2009 Xterra with factory crossbars and according to Thule I needed the Xadapt3 optional package to attach my Glide and Set kayak carrier.Well, when I got the Xadapt3 and followed the instructions, I noticed that the longer 80mm bolts were too long and didn't allow the carrier to be tightened down because the threads on the 80mm bolts only went about an inch up and not the entire length of the bolt.The 60mm and 50mm bolts that came with my kayak carrier were too short and Thule doesn't sell a 70mm bolt or a 80mm bolt that is threaded all the way to the top of the bolt.I called up Thule but all I got was a message saying to leave a message and they would return my call.Well, wouldn't you know it, Thule never bothered to return my call.I eventually had to rig up something myself to secure the Glide and Set kayak carrier to my factory crossbars.

Shame on Thule for listing products that aren't compatible and for the worst customer service ever.Although I'm not sure you can call it bad customer service if you don't even get to talk with anyone, more like no customer service at all.

I did have to make some minor adjustments for a proper fit,but it works very nicely on my factory rack and is very secure. The adapters are a little pricey, but very well made.

(More customer reviews)I just bought this item and was not sure what to expect.First of all, be advised that this is an adapter only that will allow you to mount racks to a factory installed roof rack.The Thule adapter attaches on to most factory roof racks be sure to check the fit guide for compatibility at www.thule.com.I used this adapter to add a pair of Yakima Raptor bike racks to my roof.Yes it worked with Yakima.The only adjustment I had make was to use a hacksaw to saw off some plastic components on the inside edges of the Yakima rack that fold in and out.I assume these were meant to be cut off because they folded back and forth.Leaving them on allows you to mount to a rounded bar and cutting them off adapts them to this bar which is rectangular in shape.In less than 1 hour everything was complete.This item is very afforadable, versatile, and easy to install.

Thule 517 Peloton Fork Mount Rooftop Bicycle Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)First off-- bikes go on and off in a snap. The very first time I used this rack, it probably took me less than a minute. One of the really nice features is the design of the quick-release skewer. The cam mechanism is built into the front of the tray. This has two advantages:
- The long lever means you can also have a lot of travel in the clamp. The skewer goes from being clamped down to being wide enough to remove the fork, even with "lawyer nipples," just by moving the lever. That means no fiddling with the bolt tension every time you want to put the bike on the rack--just drop it in and clamp it.
- The same lock core that locks the bike to the carrier, locks the carrier to the loadbar. Turn one key and the whole assembly is secured.

The rest of the Peloton gives a similar impression of attentive design. The strap that holds the rear wheel down is easy to attach and easy to release. I would say the only downside is the somewhat 1990s-Volvo aesthetics.
